Thieves Guild Manager

You and your three old pals decided to set up a proper thieves guild, the first one in the city. Will you get rich beyond measure, or will you fumble spectacularly and stay poor? Work your way up in 10 turns, ranging from petty theft to high politics. Work with an ancient lich, a scheming nobleman or a bridge troll, among others. And most importantly, take care of your crew, and have fun!

Gameplay

  • You manage a crew of randomly generated characters.
  • Stats: A high Sneak means a lower chance to get caught, a high Skill improves your chances to get the loot, and Stomach represents the ability to work under pressure and avoid injuries. Your crew can learn on the job, even if they fail to get the loot home.
  • Resources: Earn Coins and use them to recruit more thieves to your crew. But be careful, attracting too much Heat will increase the chance of arrest and injury.
  • ConditionsInjured characters will be usable after a few turns, but Arrested characters will not be usable again, so be careful of relying too much on a few hotshots, because there is always a chance of something going wrong.

The game is fully playable with a mouse.

Thieves Guild Manager was created as a submission for Godot Wild Jam 91, for the theme "Theft" and all three wildcards.



All assets were created by us during the 9 days of the jam.

pretty interesting concept and a good basis to expand on!! 

for me, lost all missions day 1 but no injuries. did all missions with same 2 people day 2-8 more success than failure. Day 9 first injury, completed last mission with the backup homie. Day 10 2 injuries, buy a 4th homie for last mission 1 injury 1 arrest lol 

While a little mundane in its current form, I can easily and clearly see many paths of growth and good solid bones. 

maybe you start small on street or block lvl and move through stages like general area, city compass direction, city, region, country, globe or something could be really funny to see the crimes progress from you hooking up people you know with common issues to you doing globally shady stuff xD

All in all I say great start and if you enjoy this project, keep pushing it because I can certainly see it finding its place.

Thank you for playing it and the suggestions! I like your idea of increasing scope, we'll see where it goes, but we definitely have some features that we didn't get to implement, so stay tuned if you're interested in an enhanced version. :)
